Re: “Charlotte Uprising Protesters Prepare for Upcoming Trials

It was a book.

No it was not. It was a stolen Colt Mustang .380 with the hammer at full-cock and a round in the chamber.

Brandished by a convicted felon.

Re: “Vi Lyles Discusses Housing, Policing, HB2 and Other Charlotte Issues

Someone please tell me when a Liberal Black mayor left a city in better shape than when they took over?

(Cont) ...regardless of whether or not all charlotte community members deems it necessary.

the majority of white folks in the south disagreed with abolishing slavery. it took the radical work of a few to push humanity in the US further.

Stand by Charlotte. If you work, own any property or a business, you are about to take it in the shorts.

Re: “Vi Lyles Discusses Housing, Policing, HB2 and Other Charlotte Issues

The Bojangles vote was ENTIRELY about soccer. Ed Driggs proposed paying for the Bojangles improvements out of the tourism tax and using the originally-earmarked $18.5 million for affordable housing. But oh no! that would have taken some money out of the tourism tax bucket, making it unavailable to subsidize the billionaire Smiths' ill-conceived soccer proposal. Lyles sided with the billionaires, Kenny Smith sided with affordable housing.

Re: “What's left of — and what's next for — The Charlotte Observer?

I wish CO well. Several years ago we and most of our friends quit subscribing when they ceased representing Carolina middle class workers. They seemed to prefer identity politics.

Recently I have noticed more of a balanced approach. I hope it continues.

Full disclosure. I am white, from, the south, and love America first. If the CO continues, like other media, to call me a white nationalist so be it. But it is offensive and disappointing.
