Re: “Was Occupy Charlotte's demise an inside job?

Reasons I joined the Occupy Charlotte
1) I urge the conservation of land and other natural resources for the benefit of the generations.
2) I denounce the United States Supreme Court for its ruling that corporations ARE "People" with rights pertaining thereto. People? for which "youth" is perpetual and for whom "death" can be postponed indefinitely? I believe my countries Founding Fathers meant something quite different when they said..."Of the people, by the people and for the people." Now, we the people are downgraded to second-class citizens in this new and improved Corporate States of America.
3) I abhor the "American Legislative Exchange Council" (ALEC) and the concept that THE LAWS OF THE LAND may be authored, NOT by our elected legislators who, supposedly, serve their voting constituency. ALEC presents its bills to ignorant and sometimes dishonest members of our House of Representatives and Senate. And if these bills are voted into law by our members of Congress and/or State Legislatures, it will fall that our Court systems (including the U.S. Supreme Court) will be placed in the position of determining "what the CORPORATIONS meant when writing the laws in question. I believe that is NOT the dream of our Founding Fathers.
4) I loath monopolies, whose tyranny places us in bondage by precluding or destroying "FREE" Enterprise. If they are "too big to fail," we are in bondage. If we have no choice but to be "served" them, we are in bondage. If they pollute our environment beyond our control, we are in bondage. If they determine what is "News and what is not," we are in bondage. If the Supreme Court says they (the corporations have unlimited speech (read unlimited campaign contributions," we human beings are in bondage. Our Democracy has been bought by Corporate America. We, you and I, are bought, also! These ideas are not generated by paranoia, but the observable reality of greed for wealth and power.

Now, to the "anti-Occupy" crowd I say: Yes, I bathe. Yes, I know how to use a restroom. No! I will not get a job: I'm 76 and I'll retire soon. Yes, I pay taxes. Yes, I have a home! And, Yes, my country is worth fighting for!

Who am I? I am your neighbor, your co-worker, maybe a friend, I am an American. Semper Fi!
