Bechtler Museum of Modern Art continues its Architecture + Film Series with a screening of Regular or Super: Views on Mies van der Rohe. The documentary examines the structures of German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and his life. He immigrated to Chicago after Nazis seized Bauhaus, the art and design school where he worked. Mies is known for his "less is more" philosophy. That's not to say that he follows it though. He uses excessive amounts of steel and glass in his spacey skyscrapers. A short presentation led by Thomas Forget, an assistant professor and undergraduate program coordinator of the School of Architecture at UNC Charlotte, precedes the screening.
