ART: Harold Shapinsky and The Charles White Sketchbook exhibitions

Monday, March 1

Two new exhibitions, Harold Shapinsky and The Charles White Sketchbook, recently opened at Jerald Melberg Gallery. Both artists, whose works have been featured in renowned galleries around the world, use different forms to illustrate the message inspired by the muses. In Shapinsky's work, you can find primarily abstract paintings that radiate with the energy of bright colors, while White draws and paints to capture figures and aspects of African-American culture. Jerald Melberg Gallery, 625 S. Sharon Amity Rd. 704-365-3000. www.jeraldmelberg.com.
