ART: Passionate Journey: The Grice Collection of Native American Art at Mint Museum of Art

Wednesday, July 22

The Mint Museum of Art's new exhibition Passionate Journey: The Grice Collection of Native American Art is culturally captivating. Just take one look at the mask to the left, and you'll see its the real deal (not some half-assed piece you'd find in The Phantom of the Opera). The exhibition, which features modern and contemporary Native American pottery, basketry, performance masks and more, is filled with rich art forms that are also historic representations of Native American traditions. Continues through Oct. 17. $5-$10; Free for members and children 4 years old and under. Tuesday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Wednesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mint Museum of Art, 2730 Randolph Rd. 704-337-2000. www.mintmuseum.org.
