ART: Short Fictions by Cara Ober, featuring potter Barbara Chadwick-Bland

Sunday, April 12

An exhibit that fuses the worldly contradictions with heartfelt poetry is an exhibit I can appreciate. Lark and Key Gallery presents Short Fictions by Cara Ober, featuring potter Barbara Chadwick-Bland. Ober finds beauty in all the wrong places. She seeks to see the world as it really is: gorgeous in contradiction, funny in absurd blather, and authentic in poignant longing. In addition to Ober's art, Barbara Chadwick-Bland's pottery will be featured in the gallery. She creates distinctive porcelain vessels and architectural forms that reflect her interest in exploring line, color, pattern and detail. Now, I'm no art critic, but I'm sure you will agree that their art is one-of-a-kind. Exhibition continues through April 26. Free. Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, 12 p.m.-4 p.m. Lark and Key Gallery, 453 E. 36th St., Ste. B. 704-379-1826. www.larkandkey.com.
