Paris was the place to be if you were an artist in the early 20th century. Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro journeyed there from Spain, Marc Chagall from Russia and Henri Matisse from northern France, just to name a few. New Gallery of Modern Art's, Modern Masters: Paris & Beyond exhibit offers a glimpse at works by artists rooted in Parisian avant-garde beginnings. It also features masterpieces they created after moving on to other settings in the decades following WWI. Artists include Marc Chagall, Fernand Leger, Henri Matisse, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali (see his pictured piece, titled "The Harbinger").
