Ask the editor

Fake questions. Real answers.

Q: Got any more stuff to plug?

A: Yep! But first I'll plug another organization's event.

Coming Aug. 23, the youth-focused political group GenerationEngage presents its Convention Party. According to the group, the soiree is designed to celebrate the Republican and Democratic national conventions. The event will feature live music, a screening of the film Darfur Now, a forum with Mecklenburg County Commissioner candidates, poetry and more.

The Convention Party goes down at the Neighborhood Theatre (511 E. 36th St.), and the fun starts at 4:30 p.m. I recommend checking it out. For more info, visit

OK, on to a Loafing-oriented event: Don't forget about the next Editor's Guide to Freelance Writing workshop (conducted by me) on Sept. 13 at Pura Vida Worldly Art from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit or call 704-335-8587.
