Don't miss the beard-trimming competition at the third annual Beards BeCAUSE fundraiser held at Amos' Southend. The Final Party is on Dec. 5, so get out and help them meet the cut. Donations of at least $10 will be taken at the door for entry. All contributions will go toward the Charlotte's Battered Women's Shelter in hopes to raise awareness about domestic violence. "We are hoping to come close to our goal of $55,000 for this year," Jared Yerg, one of the event's founders, said via e-mail. "It's going to be a struggle, but we have 94 Growers, FunRazors and Bearded Ladies in Charlotte and Pittsburgh, Penn., working hard to get us there."
The doors open at 7 p.m. and all ages are welcome to stop by and enjoy live music featuring Truckstop Preachers, Legendary JC's and the funky mix of Dr. Eu & Subdue's Vibe/A/Rator Bump. Silent auction prizes will also be given out, including dinner at some of Charlotte's best restaurants as well as autographed memorabilia donated by local race teams.
