Benefit show to be held for local musician

On Aug. 29, a benefit show will be held at Coyote's of Concord for former Stella Kidd bass player Doug Funderburk. Funderburk, who has been playing music for more than 25 years, has been replaced by Josh Ledbetter in the hard rock band due to health concerns after having open heart surgery.

Along with Concord-based Stella Kidd, Charlotte-based Carmona and Kingdom of Ashe will be performing, while intermission music will be spun by DJ Soden.

"We want to give him a cool show he can always remember,' Stella Kidd's Scott Lineberrry said via email. "This has been pretty tough on him." Lineberry said Funderburk will perform on a song that night.

The cost of admission is $5 and more information about the show can be found at www.myspace.com/stellakidd and www.myspace.com/coyotesconcord.
