A repeat winner. After our food writer (and BOC judge) Tricia Childress put her foot in her mouth by thinking she was complimenting owner and Frenchman Thierry Garconnet that his French fries tasted Flemish (Mon Dieu!), she came to learn why the humble tater was elevated to this Gallic description. Needless to say, Garconnet’s fries, served in a paper cone, are fabuleux. 545-B Providence Road. 704-332-1886.
