A repeat winner. One of the top possible replacements for Pat McCrory — if Mayor Fratboy wins his bid for governor — Foxx is a conscientious, likeable councilman whose positions haven’t swayed merely because he sees a mayoral run in the distance. When McCrory last year distilled our city’s social ills down to the stereotype of gangster-styled youth running rampant in the streets, Foxx responded swiftly and sensitively, urging a more nuanced approached to crime. Foxx chided McCrory on Q92.7, “These issues are extremely sensitive and they’re extremely charged. However you feel about them, I feel like they deserve more than a 5 o’clock memorandum off the 15th floor.”
