BEST PUBLIC ARTWORK
The Parrish Canopy At The EpiCentre

Staff Pick

Aluminum sheets appear to ride the wind as they rise from the sidewalk on College Street to the second story balcony of the EpiCentre. The canopy above the escalator is part of the eccentric and lyrical work of Benjamin Ian Parrish, proprietor and grand metals alchemist of Steel Designs of Charlotte. This sheets-in-the-wind street level artistry and Parrish’s other floating, turning and twisted embellishments weave and wrap throughout the center city project. An unexpected wonder. Old Convention Center site at College Street, Trade Street and 4th Street.
