A repeat winner. Anybody who is serious about theater — not roadie-hat, T-shirt or souvenir theater, but the genuine article — is at least considering a subscription to the 2008-09 season at Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte. They came up all aces in 2007-08, and their upcoming lineup — including Lieutenant of Inishmore, Rabbit Hole, Evil Dead: The Musical and the world premiere of Southern Rapture (think Uptown Charlotte, Angels in America, 1995) — looks as varied, edgy and controversial as any in their history. Happy 20th anniversary to Chip and the gang. They’ve given us so much to celebrate, and there’s plenty more sass where that came from. 650 E. Stonewall St. 704-342-2251.
