One way or another, taxpayers are going to be on the hook for the kids. We can fund the school system and get them ready for college and the work force or we can spend tax dollars building more jails and prisons — which benefits no one because repeat offenders don’t spend much time there anyway. Instead, a fully funded school system is the biggest investment in Charlotte’s future.
