Bizarre crime from Charlotte police files (Feb. 18)

Lost and Found

Not The Bow!: A 40-year-old east Charlotte woman phoned police after she heard unknown people throwing objects at her residence. We don't think Justin Beiber was in town that day ... Upon further inspection, the victim noticed that a "decorative bow," valued in the police report at $1, was damaged.

Lost And Found I: An 18-year-old east Charlotte woman called police after she lost her front door key. She told police that she made several attempts to find it, but has been unable to locate it. So, um, call a locksmith?

Lost And Found II: Late one recent Saturday night in West Charlotte, police found in the road a syringe filled with black tar heroin. We can imagine someone losing their syringe because they're on heroin, but how do you lose a syringe before you even inject it?

Be Kind, Rewind: Police were called after a 23-year-old southeast Charlotte woman said she received verbal threats. She and the suspect got into a heated argument about videos that needed to be returned to the Red Box machine, at which point the suspect threatened to assault her. No word if the movies were taken back, or if late fees were charged.

Totaled: A 63-year-old west Charlotte man reported that an unknown suspect's vehicle collided with his 1988 Oldsmobile and fled the scene. The victim said there was $700 worth of damage done to his car. $700 of damage on a 1988 Oldsmobile ... are they even worth much more than that?

Save My Seat: A 48-year-old man used the online crime reporting system to file that his iPhone 6 was stolen at the Regal Stonecrest movie theater. The 128GB model was left on a seat inside the theater when it was taken without the victim's permission. This is what happens when your phone is so big it doesn't fit in your pocket.

Blotter items are chosen from the files of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
