Art school: The head custodian at Nations Ford Elementary School was contacted last week and told that someone had set a dumpster ablaze. The custodian called police and headed to the school, where he also found a vandalized mobile classroom. The police report states that suspects had thrown paint on the building and on the walls and windows inside the classroom. Hey, some artistic soul is just testing the line between creativity and crime. This kid could be the next Shepard Fairey or Mark Jenkins!
Late Shift: A suspect was found on the property of JW Demolition last week after the business had shut down for the night. The man was inside a fence with "No Trespassing" signs around it. He held a flashlight, a pair of leather work gloves and a crowbar. Look, maybe he was just trying to catch up after a busy week.
I'll be Doggone: A 26-year-old man filed a police report after being threatened by a would-be dog thief. The man told officers an unknown man approached him and his dogs in front of his home and demanded that he sell one of the canines. The victim refused and the suspect told him, "I will come by tonight and take one of your dogs and shoot up your house with my AK." Dude really wants that dog!
Music addict: An employee at a local Rite Aid called police after a man shoplifted from the store and then threatened him. The employee told officers he saw the man cut the security tag off a package of blank CDs and try to leave the store. When the victim confronted the man, he pulled a box cutter out and told the victim to get back. It looks like the impending SOPA legislation has downloading addicts desperate for that last droplet of free music.
Regular addict: A 70-year-old man filed a police report after he was threatened by a drug addict who also happened to be a family member. The man told officers the suspect pulled a wooden envelope opener out and demanded the key to a lockbox holding the old man's prescription medicines. Surely, there are better ways to do this. (Scratch that — they are no good ways to do this.)
Threat of the Week: A 38-year-old man called police last week after he was threatened by his girlfriend in an AT&T store. She told her man, "I hope the lady's husband comes home and shoots both of you in the head and kill you." Perhaps the AT&T store isn't best place for a guy to confess his infidelity. We can't think of a better one, though.
