Get ready for an explosion of flavor en español via the Latin American Festival. For 17 years now, Charlotte has been home to this breath of fresh air blowing in from a little south of the Equator. Music acts include New York outfit José Conde & Ola Fresca, Charlotte's own Bakaloa Stars, Flamenco Tropical De Patrio Servin, newcomer Leydy Bonilla, ex La Rua members Eva Fina, Son De Cuba, and Llajtasuyo.   • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site.
