The Charlotte Writers' Club and community partners are planning Carolinas WordFest, a celebration of the power of words and talented writers in North and South Carolina. WordFest, to be held October 15 throughout First Ward, will include poets, memoirists, novelists, scriptwriters, playwrights, storytellers and lyricists. Playwrights will seek audience feedback on works-in-progress; divergent voices from fiction and nonfiction will reflect the immigrant experience; and children will take home stories born of their imaginations. The free, interactive festival also will offer panels, workshops and a book market. Designed to educate and entertain, Carolinas WordFest will inspire wordsmiths and readers.
