Wining and dining is done with style during Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend. The annual event brings together regionally and nationally established chefs and vintners. This year’s event kicks off with a wine tasting at Atherton Market. It’s followed by other tastings, dinners, demos and Big Bottles & Blues (April 25), a shindig held in Founders Hall with cuisine provided from City Smoke, wine from all the featured wineries participating in Charlotte Wine & Food Weekend, and music from Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues. Other highlights of the week-long event include Wine Education 101 (April 26) with master sommelier Andy McNamara and the grand finale, a gala and auction held at The Ritz-Carlton. Proceeds raised from this year’s indulgences go to Council for Children’s Rights, Pat’s Place, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, and Charlotte Concerts.
