Poplife

Are you tired of the same-old-same-old when it comes to nightlife in Charlotte? Tired of hearing wack DJs mix wack songs like "Funky Cold Medina" with tired crap like "Sweet Home Alabama"? Well, you need to check out Pop Life.

Created by Creative Loafing and Michael Kitchen of The Sol Kitchen, Pop Life is a weekly, multimedia nightlife event featuring art, fashion, live performances and a host of DJs playing the most eclectic blend of music in the city -- from soul to funk to afro-beat, Brazilian, house and more.

Set to be held at Prevue (formerly Gilda's -- 2901 N. Davidson St. in Charlotte) Pop Life runs for just three months. The event kicks off with an RSVP-only opening party on May 16. To get on the guest list, send an e-mail to carlton.hargro@creativeloafing.com.
