COMEDY: Bill Maher at Knight Theater

Sunday, May 23

Politics is one of those touchy subjects that people in mixed company should avoid talking about. I guess Bill Maher never got that memo though, since the host of HBO's Real Talk With Bill Maher is known for his political wit and humor and unleashes it unyieldingly. In addition to his political talk show, Maher has also published four bestsellers and continues the stand-up comedy career he started back in 1979. He'll be in town Sunday night to share some political insight -- Don't you love his "New Rules"? -- guaranteed to make you bust a gut. Adult language is involved, so conservatives be warned. $57.50 and up. 7 p.m. Knight Theater, 430 S. Tryon St. 704-372-1000.
