Comedian Carlos Mencia has some reputation. From being accused of plagiarism, to saying things that are just wrong (like the uncalled-for remarks he made about the Hurricane Katrina aftermath), the former star of Comedy Central's (now defunct) Mind of Mencia, is really only funny to folks who aren't easily offended. Dubbed on his website as an "Equal Opportunity Offender," he's fair at targeting just about all races in his stand-up gigs, but his jabs at stereotypes can get more than a little touchy — and not in a fuzzy, cute kinda way. Good thing he's a comedian; otherwise, he'd be in some big trouble by now. $35 and up. 7 p.m. McGlohon Theatre, 345 N. College St. 704-372-1000. www.blumenthalcenter.org.
