COMEDY: Craig Shoemaker

Wednesday, Dec. 8

Comedian Craig Shoemaker, aka "The Lovemaster," believes laughter is the best medicine of all. He's even the founder of a charity called Laughter Heals. Needless to say, he thrives on being funny, and given that he's starred on numerous comedy shows like Comic Relief and Comedy Central Presents, he must be doing something right. Do your body some good by paying a visit to McGlohon Theatre for his performance. Show contains adult language. $20 and up. 7:30 p.m. McGlohon Theatre, 345 N. College St. 704-372-1000.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
