COURAGE: Heroes & Legends

When: Sat., Nov. 16, 7-9 p.m. 2019
Phone: 704-372-1000
Price: $20
Courage is demonstrated each day by those who work tirelessly in the battlefields of war, discrimination, and personal trials. While some are recognized, most are unspoken heroes and heroines. In addition to patriotic selections, this Festival Singers concert includes "Last Letter Home," a soldier’s last words to his family; "Flying," a stunning all female work using the reflective words of legendary aviator Amelia Earhart; "Song for Equal Suffrage," an anthem from the women’s right to vote movement; and "A Silence Haunts Me," by composer Jake Runestad that uses Beethoven’s own words describing his struggle with his hearing loss.
