Crashing BMG's holiday party

I crashed Bar Management Group's holiday party at Whisky River last week.

Only employees of BMG receive an invite to this legendary annual holiday party. Considering how many bars BMG owns and manages, that's a lot of employees ... and one big-ass party. A party with a lot of really cool people -- my peoples.

Matsuflex and Shawn Southern from VH1's Tool Academy made an appearance. Well, technically they're BMG employees -- I saw them after a Bobcats game standing outside the arena passing out fliers to BAR Charlotte. Are there really that many tools in Charlotte that a national show casts some from here? Meanwhile, a BMG employee was also on the reality show Big Brother.

You get a feeling that the night is gonna be a good night when you have to sign a waiver to get into a party. It makes sense for me, though, as I am a bit of a liability. I did fall down the escalator of the EpiCentre once.

Everyone was either really in the holiday spirit ... or just drunk. Rather than telling everyone "Happy Christmahanakwanzika," I just said "Merry Open Bar!" Because the free-flowing spirits were definitely getting people into the spirit. And Budweiser's Select 55 made its Charlotte debut, which is a 55-calorie beer that I think is consumed more for hydration than intoxication.

The belle of the ball was my fellow party crasher, Cubby, who did a live performance of his famous YouTube video, dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" -- leotard and all. And I accidently gave a little show myself. I was in the green room backstage waiting for Cubby -- he was in the bathroom with the door closed -- and the door was closed to the stage ... so I thought it safe to lift up my dress and adjust my undergarments. Just when I did so I heard a male yelp like he'd just seen a ghost. It was the emcee, DJ Jazzy Jimmy, coming in. He saw my granny panties ... almost as scary as a ghost.

Since I crashed their party and ate all their pizza, the least I can do is write their unofficial newsletter. Bubble Lounge is coming soon to the EpiCentre, and Whisky River will soon start serving food.
