Creative Loafing's Political Party 

April 4 at 7 p.m., Creative Loafing presents Political Party!

Our twist on talk shows like Politically Incorrect, Political Party is a live event that gives you the chance see a panel of local notables -- from journalists to media personalities to community activists and educators -- debate today's hottest issues. In addition, we invite you to get involved, ask questions and let your voice be heard!

Political Party is hosted by CL's award-winning columnist Tara Servatius, and she'll be joined by guests such as:

• Power 98-FM radio personality/comedian Tone X

John Grooms, author of "Boomer With Attitude"

• Professor and filmmaker Nsenga Burton

Angeles Ortega-Moore, executive director of the Latin American Coalition

• And more!

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
