The Deal: Gym Class Heroes was out capitalizing on its nearly overnight success, while Brooke Hogan tries to hold on to her last bit of stardom.
The Good: Opening cover band Charity Case got the entire crowd into the show before the big names came out by covering hit songs from Kid Rock, Guns N' Roses, Eminem and the Beastie Boys. Gym Class Heroes (or Travis and those other guys, as most people know them) performed a strong catalog of music saving all the good stuff for the end. The small crowd that was front row center was live all night long.
The Bad: Charlotte proved to be one of the worst concert audiences of all-time, as even the headliners only got about 10-15 percent of the crowd's undivided attention. It was less than that when performing songs that weren't singles yet. Brooke Hogan lip-synched an entire stage show (even the adlibs). Kiss 95.1 radio personalities proved to be lame, corny and out of touch. Khaki shorts, gelled hair, thong sandals and Miller Lite in hand proved to be the universal outfit for all guys who obviously came for the girls and not the show. No one in the crowd knew who J Dilla was (big disappointment).
The Verdict: Charlotte further proved why we'll never be a hub for music or the arts. Travis of the Gym Class Heroes proved he'll be solo in the next year or so. Brooke Hogan proved her career is about mid-flush and circling the bowl. A forgettable concert, highlighted by two ambulance pickups for drunks before 7 p.m. and groping by suburban ghetto kids all night long.
