I really loved this article. As an African American female, I have certainly experienced this before. It is, to say the least, very irritating and quite disturbing that the ones who commit the error time and time again, seem to disregard you telling them that you aren't who they think you are. In fact, when they repeatedly "mistake" you for "the other one", it is as if they are saying to you "you are who I say you are", and that NEVER passes with me. So when the offender has mistaken me for "the other one" again(after the initial offense), well then I just mistake them for "the other one" as well...and then they suddenly remember "Oh! You know what? I mistook you for someone else, I apologize"...umm hmm...yeah I bet...
