Event will bring NYC back to the QC

I'm going! Going! Back! Back! To Charlotte! ... Not exactly Biggie Smalls traveling to the West Coast, but the return of local band Red Limo is definitely a reason to party. The band is moving back to the Queen City after years in New York, and what better way to welcome home than a concert with three bands, graffiti and spoken words artists.

Hitting the stage for this event will be NYC bands Gold Streets and Man In Gray. Gold Streets is a psychedelic indie rock trio consisting of T. Almy on drums, Gizella Otterson on bass and Norman Vino on guitar, the whole band does vocals.

Man In Gray is an alternative punk band that has five members with unique roles in the band. Tina DaCosta is the lone female member and handles the "singing, falling and screaming." Bryan Bruchman plays guitar and does the "flailing, stumbling and things that go screeee." Jeremy Joseph also plays guitar and he manages the "harmonizing and face melting." Jared Freidman plays bass and sticks to "stomping, cigar smoking and partial nudity." Rounding out the bunch is JLM on drums, and, you get guessed it, he handles the "drums and general hitting of things."

Nasty/Shane presents: NY and Back is going down Saturday, Aug. 18, at Snug Harbor. It's $8 for those who can drink legally and $10 for those who can't. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Man In Gray hit the stage at 10:45 p.m. with Gold Streets at 11:30 p.m. and Red Limo at 12:30 a.m. with spoken word sprinkled in between.
