Exhibit: Dreamers Don't Sleep 

Opening on May 4, the Dreamers Don't Sleep exhibit is a group show presented by Carlleena Person. New works by local artists including Person, as well as Infamous Jean Claude, Oscar Arango (check out his funky sea-friendly painting, pictured to the left) and Switch will be on showcase at Espada Bicycles in NoDa.

Free admission. Opening reception on May 4, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Exhibit continues through May 31. Espada Bicycles, 3206 N. Davidson St., Suite R. 704-557-0303.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
