Exhibit: It's About Time

Mint Hill Arts is well aware of time's preciousness. The gallery's current exhibit is featuring works from local artists that were inspired by the changing of time. Though subject matter varies — from a painting capturing the autumn foliage to a reference to the 9/11 attack on our nation — they each recall specific moments and events etched into history. The exhibit only runs through early October, so mark your calendars now.

Exhibit continues through Oct. 6. Mint Hill Arts, 7714 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte. 704-545-0894.

  • On Saturday, Oct. 21, hundreds gathered at Camp North End on Statesville Avenue for Charlotte's first black alternative music festival. We captured some of the bands in action on stage, but mostly we surveyed the grounds as fans, families, vendors and more lounged around the sprawling, colorful Camp North End site. It was a great day of music, food, fun, and sweet, autumn sunshine. (Photos by Mark Kemp)
