EXHIBIT: Mecklenburg, Germany

Tuesday, June 28

This new exhibit at The Charlotte Museum of History connects the city with one historical woman — Charlotte, Princess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Queen (wife of King George III) of Great Britain — in celebration of the 250th anniversary of her coronation and the 1994 Partnership Agreement between the two Mecklenburgs. Photos from the Mecklenburg region of Germany will be showcased. This includes landscapes — seaside resorts, modern architecture, old farmhouses, castles (see the pictured Schwerin Castle) and cathedrals — and photos of folks who live there. Museum hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m.-5 p.m. The Charlotte Museum of History, 3500 Shamrock Drive. 704-568-1774. www.charlottemuseum.org.
