Exhibit: Patchwork

Mixed media plays a major role in figurative works by local artist Charlotte Foust. She uses graphite, acrylics and collage to give her paintings vast layers. As a result, her creations are described as "stark monochromatic landscapes inhabited by anthropomorphic forms" (as clearly seen in the piece on the right). The opening reception for her latest exhibit will take place on Friday, Aug. 5, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Lark & Key Gallery.

Aug. 3-Sept. 23. Lark & Key Gallery and Boutique, 128 E. Park Ave., Suite B. 704-334-4616. www.larkandkey.com.
