Exhibit: School of Paris

It's not every day you're able to gaze your eyes on artwork (like Gustave Singier's "Provence Soleil Mer Froide," pictured) created in Europe during the late 1940s through the early 1960s. Bechtler's exhibition School of Paris: European Abstraction Post World War II takes its viewers on a journey, with more than 60 works that emerged on canvas/paper as a result of popular modern artists who hailed from various European countries.

$4-$8 admission. Through Jan. 3, 2011. Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, 420 South Tryon St. 704-353-9200. www.bechtler.org.
