Charlotte Observer reporter David Perlmutt is tracking down World War II veterans, most now in their 90s. He’ll bring some to share their stories, such as Henry Hirschmann, a Holocaust survivor who joined the U.S. Army "to get even" and fought through Europe; and Andy Andrews of Black Mountain, part of the third wave at Omaha Beach on D-Day.
At the historic Duke Mansion, 400 Hermitage Road in Myers Park.. Free to attend, reservations required: e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 704/714-4445.
