Addiction is often stigmatized as a moral issue when it is, in fact, a proven brain disease. As a result, those battling addiction may shy away from people of faith out of shame or fear of judgement. But at Charlotte Rescue Mission we strongly believe that our identity as believers fuels our work in addiction recovery, and at the same time, faith in God or a higher power is crucial for the addicted person’s recovery.
