Is it just me or isn't it simply delightful to rub your fingers across bumpy inked letterpress-produced invites? The handmade tradition may be less common now that faster and smoother printing options abound, but that doesn't stop the folks who love the old-school look (and feel) of continuing to use it. In fact, there's a whole industry devoted to keeping the procedures and art form alive. At AIGA Charlotte's Letterpress Fest folks can get a glimpse into the letterpress revolution by attending workshops and lectures by special guests — like Jim Sherraden, the owner of Hatch Show Print, a Nashville shop famous for making posters of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Led Zeppelin and other notable musicians.
