Cult Movie Mondays is getting a little freakier than normal this week as Tod Browning's 1932 Freaks is on the agenda to be screened. The film, with a cast mostly composed of actual carnival performers, tells the story of a beautiful trapeze artist who marries a midget for his money. As is usually the case, she's got a plan to get rid of him so she can spend the funds with her hunky lover (suitably named Hercules). But when the rest of the circus entourage learns of the plot they decide to seek their own twisted revenge. Free. 8 p.m. Actor's Theatre of Charlotte, 650 E. Stonewall St. 704-342-2251. www.actorstheatrecharlotte.org.
