Asian-American film students from NYU present films

The Chinese American Association of Charlotte in association with the Light Factory presents a night of award-winning films from Asian-American film students from New York University (NYU). The headliner is North Carolina native Sasie Sealy whose Dance Mania Fantastic won the Student Visionary Award at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival. On Saturday, Aug. 12, the NYU graduate film student hosts a Film Night with her peers including: Kim Spurlock, Mark Heyman and Angela Cheng. There will also be a chance to meet and talk with Sealy about her newest film, The Elephant Garden, which this event will help fund as it begins shooting here in North Carolina this fall. Tickets are $10 for non-members, $8 for members and free for everyone under 10. The show starts at 7pm at TLF, located at 345 N. College St., Suite 211.
