FILMS of 1968 presents 'Sympathy for the Devil'

Jean Luc Godard in this film splices scenes of the Rolling Stones in the studio recording the title song with classically directed film scenes depicting the different revolutions sweeping the world. Less an advocacy for revolution than an encapsulation of it, viewers are introduced to the Black Panthers, Marxists, representatives of the sexual revolution and of course some of the biggest revolutionaries of their day: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman and the fading Brian Jones. Presented as part of the Bechtler's series 'Films of 1968: Style, Revolution and The Future.'
