Folicking Through the Garden

Friday, July 20

Those lovable ragtag characters from the Book of Genesis are queuing up at Halton Theater for Children of Eden, the finale of CPCC Summer Theatre's 2007 season. Adam and Eve are just part of this epic beginning, stretching all the way down to the generations of Shem, Ham, and Japeth. With a few guest shots from the animal kingdom in-between. Winner of CL's Show of the Year honors in 1999 when CP presented its Charlotte premiere, this Stephen Schwartz musical even doles out a tune or two to the Almighty (Jerry Colbert in a characteristically modest mode) as He does that creation thing. Tom Hollis directs the divine revival through July 28. Wed-Sat, 8 p.m.; Sun, July 22, 2:30 p.m.; Tue, July 24, 7 p.m. $14-$20. 704-330-6534. www.arts.cpcc.edu/performing-arts/summer-theatre.
