Gente De Zona

When: Thu., Aug. 24, 8 p.m. 2017
Price: $35

Reggaeton’s popularity has subsided in the states, but the genre is still a juggernaut overseas. Cuba’s Gente De Zona (“People from the Neighborhood”) is one of reggaeton’s longest-running success stories, mostly because the group has not been afraid to switch up the format. Longtime leader Alex Delgado mixes the combo’s hip-hop and dancehall rhythms with Cuban folk forms such as son and timba; experiments with salsa; and collaborates with acts as wide-ranging as Pit Bull and Enrique Inglesias.
