In the fall of 1760, George III from the House of Hanover assumed the throne of Great Britain and Ireland. The next year, he married Charlotte, a princess from Mecklenburg-Strelitz in Germany. During his reign, George III saw the loss of many of the British colonies in North America. The presentation looks at the lives of George III and Queen Charlotte, the namesake of the city of Charlotte, North Carolina.
