Habitat benefit planned

The second annual concert to benefit Habitat for Humanity will also celebrate the organization's 25th anniversary.

The event will take place on Feb. 22 at the Double Door Inn from 2 to 11 p.m. Performers are Marsha Ellison & Friends, Rick Spreitzer, Nita B & The Swingin' Soiree, Angie Medlin with Tom Williams, Federal Brothers, Cattletruck, Willy Evans and Wink Keziah & Delux Motel.

"I think it is necessary to give people hope for positive changes, especially with this economy, and helping build houses for those in need of a home is a very positive step," said Ellison, a Habitat volunteer who helped organize the event.

Tickets are $5 at the door. For more information, go to doubledoorinn.com.
