Reggie: A Millennial Depression Comedy
A mental health centric feature film with a mini horse and a massive message now wrapping production in central NC
Salisbury, NC (August 16, 2019) – Comedian Jacques Belliveau’s HafCaf Productions in association with sixfootkitten has begun wrapping production on their first full-length feature film “Reggie: A Millennial Depression Comedy”. Filmed entirely in central NC, the film stars Jacques Belliveau, Oscar-Nominee Gary Busey, gold-selling hip hop artist Spose (Ryan Michael Peters) and also features Iain Rocco, Duke Wicker, Amanda Ortega, Hanna Brown, Jason Allen King, Colette Darby and Kiwi the Mini Horse as Reggie. A release date has not yet been set, but post-production is underway.
Written, directed, and produced by Jacques Belliveau the comedy is a semi-autobiographical story of his struggles with mental health, how it affects those around him and how therapy has helped him onto the path of healing. HafCaf has teamed up with Stampede of Love, a small therapy animal group out of Raleigh dedicated to children and adults of all ages who can benefit from the unconditional love of an animal. Stampede of Love’s Kiwi the mini horse makes his feature film debut as the titular therapy animal, Reggie. (https://www.stampedeoflove.org/)
The production filmed primarily in and around Salisbury, NC, and utilized local venues for filming, including Hurley Park, City Park, Salisbury Community Park, Integro Technologies, Chandelle Farms, Mambo Grill & Tapas, Lost & Found, Koco Java, South Main Book Company, The Forum of Salisbury, and First United Methodist Church as well as private residences provided by Calm Holdings, Abigail Young and others. The production also used local vendors for craft services, wardrobe, housing, talent and was deliberate in using art/music from local creators.
