Hecho En Mexico

The film, Spanish for “Made in Mexico,” goes beyond the struggling nation’s plight of border violence, continuous bloodshed, drug lords and sociopolitical disorder. Its focus: Residents of the nation and their introspective thoughts on the future, along with performances from some of the country’s contemporary talents. British director Duncan Bridgeman and producer/media mogul Emilio Azcárraga have crafted the documentary in segments, with various landscapes and universal worries (love, birth, death, etc.) revealed along the way. Mexican pop songstress Gloria Trevi makes an unexpected appearance with a group of folk musicians. Also featuring Chavela Vargas, Molotov, Los Tucanes de Tijuana and more. Screening with English subtitles as part of the Latino Film Series at Mint Museum Randolph.
