Come hear about “Light Horse Harry” Lee’s time in the Carolinas, which includes forming the vanguard to allow the Southern Army to elude the British in the race to cross the Dan River. John Beakes, author of “Light Horse Harry” Lee in the War for Independence will present a talk on Lee as a young officer during the Revolutionary War. Lee, a cavalryman handpicked by George Washington, was never one to back away from danger, leading daring raids and brilliant exploits. Free with paid admission.
