HOLIDAY: Holiday Lights at the Garden

Friday, Dec. 24

Nothing says the holidays like lights. The more the merrier — well, at least until the power bill arrives. Good thing Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens goes all out with its Holiday Lights at the Garden so that we don't have to. During the seasonal event, the garden is decorated with more than 600,000 gleaming lights. Visitors can also enjoy carriage rides, holiday carols, baked treats, hot cocoa/cider and more. And remember to be nice because you might also bump into a jolly old man known as Santa Claus. Continues through Dec. 31. Sunday-Thursday, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 5 p.m.-10 p.m.; Closed on Dec. 25. $12 for adults; $11 for seniors; $6 for children 4-12 years old. Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S. New Hope Road, Belmont. 704-825-4490. www.dsbg.org.
