Horoscope for April 28-May 4, 2010

Taurus The Bull (April 20-May 19):

This is the center of a three-to-four week period in which things may break. Give attention to symptoms of machinery in the home or in your car. Issues among family members may be irritating. Avoid battles over ego, which waste your energy.

For All Signs: We have a challenging aspect between the planets Saturn and Neptune. Saturn rules hard-core reality, the rules and limits of our lives. Neptune rules the spiritual, the ethereal, that which is illusive or having no boundaries. Saturn's practicality shows up the "lie behind the curtain." Neptune represents that which is the ideal, perfection. It gives us dreams and hopes for something better in the future. The message of these planets in combination is that of the Wizard of Oz: We must cultivate hope and optimism, lest we fall into despair. Yet our dreams need to be based upon something realistically possible, or we might never accomplish anything.

Aries: You have been hot and cold about a relationship since the winter. You are not in the mood to be pushed into commitment. You actually prefer to spend time alone this week. If others press, you may feel pressed to drop the relationship before you are actually ready. Give fair warning.

Gemini: Your imagination could go overboard this week and you might be overly reactive to imagined slights. Double-check on facts, data and directions that come your way. There is an old saying: "Don't believe everything you think." Take this one to heart this week.

Cancer: Friends from the past may be getting in touch with you during this period. Some of them may have contacts or ideas that will help you to move in the direction you want to go. Ongoing partnerships have a positive role in your life at this time.

Leo: This is a time in which setting boundaries is useful. Someone may have been assuming power that interferes with your space. Leos do not like to be unpleasant, but sometimes a well-placed warning growl or two can do wonders. Quiet self-assertion is a far better tool than allowing yourself to be pressured into a tantrum.

Virgo: This could be a very good time to communicate with both lovers and children. Old business may be brought up, hopefully to clear up previous misunderstandings. Travel is favored, particularly if you plan to return to some place you have already seen.

Libra: Wanderlust may have taken a bite out of you this week. You are weary of heavy responsibilities and the Libra's desire to make everyone happy. Though it is built into your habit patterns to keep the peace, maybe you can duck out once in awhile to sniff the springtime breezes.

Scorpio: You and a partner need to retreat to your separate corners this week, lest you do damage by impulsive moves. Relationships to siblings and roommates are much better and offer a place to help you think.

Sagittarius: Changes and reorganization of your workplace draw your attention this week. This is not major. It could be as small as sorting and rearranging your files or your desk. You want the appearance of your environment to be as open and cheerful as possible.

Capricorn: Don't allow the dark side of your imagination to take over and run away with your actions now. Under the circumstances, it would be easy to fall into negative attitudes, but most of this is fear-based and not realistic. Keep an open mind.

Aquarius: No matter how well-meaning you are, others may misunderstand and be offended. The issue is over ego. If the Other needs to cling to it, let it be. You have a grasp of the big picture and many around you cannot fly in the ethers with you or understand your far-reaching perspective.

Pisces: Monitor your inner critic this week. It may be serving up a plate of neurotic guilt to interfere with your attitude. Set it aside and realize it is just the ego, trying to keep your attention in a negative place.
